Rhea Kalo is an Athens-based studio creating homeware with a soft spot for the imperfect. What began with hand-painted ceramic vases during the 2020 lockdown has grown into a full collection spanning ceramics, textiles, candles, lighting and furniture.

We work with bold colours, asymmetric shapes and vibrant patterns that shouldn’t go together but somehow do. Most pieces are designed for second lives - candles become espresso cups when they burn down, vases move from flowers to candles to empty sculpture depending on the day. Built for real life. Everything is meant to be used.

Each piece is handmade and hand-painted in Athens by local artisans who care as much about the wonky edge and the irregular curve as we do. Made to be mixed, not matched, always complementing each other.

Our philosophy comes to life at The Plants House, our first hospitality project, an eclectic Athens stay where you can experience the full Rhea Kalo universe. Every object is from the studio: usable art you live with. It’s a space that shows how our pieces behave in the real world, inspiring a more colourful, playful way of living.
